THE UNEXPECTED

This is a very, very short story.

Today, when I went to take my shower, as soon as I turned the water on, it sprayed everywhere. I checked where the leak was. As soon as I found it, I took a pair of pliers and a stepstool. The reason for the stepstool was because the shower head is seven feet high and I can’t reach it without a stool. I did my best and hoped I got it fixed. I hate getting on ladders because I always feel shaky. Today was no different.

I guess I was a bit too aggressive in the shower because by the time I was finished; I was huffing and puffing a bit more than usual. For some reason, I inhaled a little too deeply at the same instant that I went to towel dry my hair. You won’t believe this, but somehow, I accidentally inhaled the fringe of the towel. The fringe seemed to lasso my uvula. I hacked and choked and coughed until I almost lost my breakfast. Now, I ask you, what were the chances of that happening?

Lucky for me, I had a good grip on the towel. For a moment, I didn’t realize what had happened.  Thank God I had a good grip or I might have sucked the whole towel down. Believe me, sucking on a towel is just plain nasty.  The day is still very young. I hope there aren’t too many other nasty surprises just waiting for me to let my guard down.

THE END

Short and funny…only you could have sucked a towel down. Still laughing.
