GROWING UP NORMAL

When I was growing up, I thought that whatever happened in our home was normal. I had four natural siblings and five adopted siblings. To us, this was normal. My dad went to work and my mom stayed home to raise the ten children.

My maternal grandmother was a psychic/medium and a spiritualist. My mother was a sensitive and so am I. This was normal for us. I saw my first full bodied apparition when I was only eight. We were at our summer house in the countryside. It was still daylight when my mother told us it was time to go to bed for the night. The girls slept in a dormitory room with all the beds in a row. My bed was closest to the door.

When I arrived in the dormitory, all the other girls were already in bed. Standing beside my bed was a stunningly beautiful woman holding a baby. The woman had long waist-length light brown hair and she was wearing a long white nightgown. She didn’t seem to notice me as she paced back and forth beside my bed. I was awestruck by her beauty. Being only eight, I had assumed that any woman that beautiful had to be the Blessed Virgin. I ran downstairs to tell my parents. My dad said he was not going up to see because he was drinking beer at the time and he did not feel he should greet the Blessed Mother in that condition. My mother came rushing upstairs to witness the apparition for herself. Unfortunately, by the time she arrived in the dormitory, the apparition had disappeared. The woman and baby appeared to me only once more on the following night, but never came again.
