WORLDS INTERTWINED

Over the years, I have had many visitors from the ‘other side’. I did not know any of the spirits who had allowed me to see them. In a recent home I had rented, there were so many spirits that visited me on a daily basis that it became just another day in my life and for the most part, I saw no need to mention them to anyone. It didn’t seem to matter whether it was day or night although most of the visitations took place at night. I seemed to be living in a vortex that was on their path. One thing I did do though was to go outside one day and tell the spirits that they were welcome to visit me any time they wanted. I told them they could peek in the windows, but they were not allowed inside the house. Inside was my domain. Strangely enough, for as active as that area was, I never saw any spirits inside my home.

One night, as my husband and I were watching television together, we both saw the face of a teenage boy peering through the living room window at us. My husband jumped up and ran to the door to chase the young man off. I told him not to waste his time because it was just a spirit. Moreover, all we could see was the spirit boy’s head and hands as he cupped his face to peer in the window. His torso and legs did not appear to be there as I could see the deck railing through where his body should have been to block my view of the railing. To my knowledge, that was the only apparition my husband had ever seen in his life. I have to say, it freaked him out.

After my husband left me, I went to live with my sister for a while until I could get my life sorted out. My sister told me that her house and property were clean and she did not want me bringing any of my rag-tag spirits with me… as if I had any control over the apparitions.

On Christmas day that first year I was with my sister, about two-thirty in the afternoon, I was watching the news on television while waiting for the family to arrive for dinner. I heard a click sound come from the corner of the room. I looked over and saw a girl about fourteen standing there watching the television too. She was wearing a red V-neck sweater and dark gray slacks. She had a red ribbon holding black a mass of shoulder length black curls.

As I watched her, she suddenly noticed me and made an inaudible gasp. She took two steps backwards into the corner of the room and slowly faded into nothingness. I asked her name and I got the message in my head as she said her name was Mary Rita. I never saw her before, and I never saw her again.
