Sometimes in life screaming is understandable and acceptable. If someone accidentally slams a door on your fingers, it’s okay to scream. If you’re being attacked, it’s okay to scream. For the most part, as children, we were taught to keep our emotions in check. I can understand that because we were ten kids at home and no one wanted to hear screaming all day long. We were also taught to speak in a normal tone of voice. I guess it was good at that time. It sure was conducive to a relatively quiet home. It made us learn how to deal with happenings in life. We were constantly reminded to control our emotions.
Life is funny at times. Sometimes you know things and you don’t know how you know them, but you just do. Other times, you just don’t know what you don’t know.
The very next time that someone calls you a “bird brain”, just smile and say, “thank you.”
For many years now, I wished I had a reclining chair. I have sat in quite a few and even slept in one for a week. Such marvelous inventions they are. My problem was that I never had the room capacity to accommodate a recliner because I had always had the traditional living room set. You know, the matching sofa, love seat and overstuffed armchair.
There’s something very special about our Christian holidays. Beyond the actual religious meaning of the occasion, is the party aspect when the family gets together to celebrate. The older I get, the more I enjoy the festivities. I suppose it’s because I live alone and don’t get out as much as I used to do when I was younger. For the most part, my visitors are usually one at a time which I love, but being in the midst of the whole family, is a great experience because my family is totally wacky… I mean that in a loving way. I never know what to expect… not from the family members, nor from the animals. Each occasion is quite unique.
VISITORS IN THE NIGHT
Throughout my entire life, I have had numerous paranormal experiences. So much so, that I have learned how to manage these events so that I don’t lose my mind. To the best of my ability, I don’t acknowledge what transpires. Most of all, my motto is to show no fear. When I see things of a paranormal nature, internally, I simply think how cool that I get to have this experience. As a rule, I am not frightened by the events.
This morning, I got up at ten forty-five. Yeah, I know that’s late by most standards, but I only got to sleep around two this morning.
Having my dad living with me for the last ten years of his life was just about the sweetest time in my life. To me, it was truly an honor that I will never forget. Dad was the perfect housemate. While he did offer his opinion on things at times, he was never obtrusive in any way. For the most part, dad did whatever he wanted and we never clashed. My husband and I respected his age and enjoyed his pearls of wisdom.
This is a very, very short story.
Today, when I went to take my shower, as soon as I turned the water on, it sprayed everywhere. I checked where the leak was. As soon as I found it, I took a pair of pliers and a stepstool. The reason for the stepstool was because the shower head is seven feet high and I can’t reach it without a stool. I did my best and hoped I got it fixed. I hate getting on ladders because I always feel shaky. Today was no different.
One would have to say that I was very lucky this past winter. Most of the folks here got that nasty flu that seemed to make everyone so sick. In many cases, their misery lasted a good few weeks. I, thank God, escaped all that. However, I felt sick in a different way. Perhaps it was the lack of fresh air, or lack of daylight, but I became extremely lethargic. I had lots of things to do, but I didn’t have the energy to do anything. Every time I made my list of chores, I accomplished nothing on my list.
